Meszaros Foundation

to donate $50K to

Local COVID-19 Relief Efforts

The Meszaros Family Charitable Foundation is proud to announce that we will be giving back to the local community by donating $50,000 to help those in need due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Foundation wants to step up big and do its part during this crisis, as well as energize efforts in the community for giving to those organizations in desperate need of funding.

For the last five years, the Meszaros Family Charitable Foundation has raised money to make a difference in our local community. The Foundation’s Board of Directors feels this monetary donation is what is needed at this time and wants to devote all efforts to help our Valley and surrounding areas.

Therefore, it has been decided to postpone the 5th annual FUNd Feast until August 5th, 2021, and focus our attention on those most in need at this current time.

The FUNd Feast is the Foundation’s main source of revenue and is held yearly under the BIG TOP at The Original Quaker Steak and Lube in Downtown Sharon Pa. The flagship restaurant the late Gary Meszaros and partner George “Jig” Warren founded in 1974. The event takes on a Bavarian Fun Fest theme with live entertainment, great food, and fun had by all.

“Our Foundation’s main fundraising event is held every August known as Moe’s FUNd Feast. We have received widespread support from many outstanding businesses and members of our community and during this extraordinarily unique and unprecedented time, we want to help even more,” said Bob Mentrek President of the Meszaros Family Charitable Foundation.

The Meszaros Foundation board of directors has begun presenting checks to 22 charitable organizations who are helping those in need and that are doing their part to ensure the wellbeing of those in our area affected by this worldwide epidemic.

The Meszaros Charitable Foundation has provided dozens of grants to include toys for needy children at Christmas, The Community Food Warehouse, The Salvation Army and has partnered with the Entrepreneurship Academy at Linden Point, as well as the Hope Center and other local schools, churches, and other community outreach programs in the past.

“The entire Meszaros Foundation board of directors and the advisory committee could not be prouder of the medical personnel, first responders and the essential workers that are literally putting their lives on the line every day. We are in awe of the support that our volunteers and local charities have poured into efforts of those in need.” Mentrek said.

“Our ongoing intention this summer is to find additional resources to match our $50,000 in grants to double up to $100,000 and donate it back again into the community, again based on needs at the current moment. Our diverse group of board members have a good sense of the pulse of the community and we can respond quickly as needed to those going through hardship”.

For those that wish to make additional donations for Covid-19 relief can do so by sending contributions to The Community Foundation of Western Pa and Eastern Ohio in care of The Meszaros Family Charitable Foundation or mail donations to The Meszaros Fund P.O Box 1135 Hermitage, Pa. 16148.

Established in 2015, the Meszaros Family Charitable Foundation carries on the legacy of Gary J. "Moe" Meszaros. The Foundation’s goal is to honor Gary’s vision by implementing lifestyle improvements in our region, strengthening individuals and families, conducting community projects, and empowering our citizens to be successful. Gary always brightened the community through employment, business development, and by making a difference in people’s lives.
